Description
After years of delays, the Lone Star College-University
Park’s $21.67 million Visual and Performing Arts Center was completed in December of 2023, and opened to students & staff in January of 2024.
The 30,000-square-foot facility encompasses an art gallery, a band hall, a 338-seat main stage theater, and a 100-seat black box theater. It also includes dedicated classrooms for art, drama, and music.
In the main auditorium, a custom Diva® Acoustical Shell provides
superb acoustic support for performing ensembles and graces the stage with a striking, modern aesthetic. Backstage, Wenger | J.R. Clancy rigging and controls allow the center to host musicals and amplified performances as well.
In the black box theatre, custom StageTek Seated Risers line
the perimeter of the room, and are outfitted with Portable Audience Chairs. This combination of seated risers and chairs offers an affordable and comfortable solution for audience seating that is also versatile enough to quickly adapt to the changing needs of the performance space.
